PAID!!!!!!!!! Check!

Bucket List #18

February 28, 2012 - Laugh so Hard no sound comes out!

Shit my Dad does....
So this is what retired people do with their free time. They count all the toilet paper rolls in the house. All 69 of them. I got a text at noon to let me know this was how he was spending his day. I was in tears laughing. For 2 days.

Oh, and to further this investigation, the next day -Dad counts every square in a roll and CALCULATES how many "sittings" his 69 rolls of TP will last! Yes, this is my father.

Bucket List #34

Go tobogganing!

February 28, 2012 Took the kiddies sledding today down the BIG hill! (Ok the biggest hill in our field!) Had a blast with them and I felt just like a 10 year old again! They even made runs with little jumps on them and one with a big jump at the end followed by a pile of snow so they would go vvvvvvvvvvvoooooom and then POOF! all you see is a cloud of snow. I can't wait to do more winter sports with my little ones now that we actually have SNOW in Edmonton. Snowshoing tomorrow!! :) Math? F- that!

Bucket List #93

Here is me making a snow angel in Jasper before getting back on board the bus. CHECK!

Bucket List #10

February 18, 2012

Today Trish, Arthur, Christopher (the Hobdens) and I boarded the "Magic Bus" (no really, thats what it's called) to Jasper. At 5:00 in the morning. Surprisingly we all got up and there on time, even Arthur, who was out at a party until 1:00 am.

Anyways, this "Magic Bus" thing is a phenomenal idea for someone who wants to go skiing in the mountains for the day, because 1) you don't have to drive and 2) you meet new people and 3) it's way cheaper than doing the trip by yourself. For $135 you get your transportation and lift ticket, so you save on those costs plus the cost of hotels and stuff, cuz lets face it, there is no way I'd be able to drive to Jasper ski all day, and then drive back all in one day.

The most memorable event of the day was trying to get to the "Eagle Ridge" chair lift from a run that didn't really lead into that chair lift. I was following the crew as I was embarassingly the slowest skiier of our group. Well all of a sudden they start skiing through A FOREST. Right away my gut instinct says "not a good idea Kenna, you are not a very experienced skiier". But, as I didn't want to be separated from the others, I followed them. BAD IDEA. There were all these little jumps all throughout the trail and I tried miserably to VERY slowly and cautiously navigate my way through all the while thinking "I'm going to kill these boys". And the most embarassing part was an instructor came through with all these little little kids who couldn't have been more than 6 years old and here they are going up and down over the little jumps like nothing. So I'm trying to watch them and see if I can miraculously pick up some of the techniques, to no avail. Luckily I didn't get into an accident and probably about 20 mintues later made it to the end of the trail and onto the chair lift.

That being said, We all had a great time, well I know I did! I loved being out in the mountains again! Seeing them makes me realize how much I miss home. For some reason, I see mountains and I think "home". We went down so many runs and even went up to the very top of the mountain for some breathtaking views and some challenging slopes. We even stopped at a chalet/ICE bar halfway down the mountain for a BBQ hotdog and sat outside enjoying the atmosphere.  The Mountains were so beautiful and we COULDN'T have had better weather!!
